After LHS
Went to school at St. Margaret's Hospital and now am a
registered radiological technologist. Last year the state of
Kansas mandated that all technologists become licensed by the
Kansas Board of Healing Arts.
Employment
I have been supervisor of the Radiology Department
at KU's Student Health Service (Watkins) for 20+ plus years.
In addition to radiology services, my department is
responsible for immunization compliance as required for
admission to the university...quite a challenge.
Hearth & Home
My husband, Joe, and I moved back to Lawrence in 1985 after
living in Mississippi (where he is from) and Louisiana. We
have one daughter, Joanna, who is married and living in
Weatherford, Tex. No grandchildren yet; however, Joanna left
us to care for her two horses (bummer).
The Other Stuff
I enjoy reading, but most of all I LOVE quilting. I belong to
two small quilt guilds, and had a small quilt of mine hanging
in the American Quilt Association show in Nashville a couple
of years ago. I also was a member of the Lawrence Civic Choir and
sat on its board of directors for seven years, the last year
of which I
served as the board's chair. Still to do? Retire, and then
live a long life to enjoy that retirement.
My Memories of LHS
I have wonderful memories of football games and dances at the
rec center with music provided by the Clansmen. Also the
spelunking trip with the Biology Club, when I froze my ___ off
in the tent (November is not the time to camp!). And
the A Cappella Choir and our road concert to exotic Nebraska.
Am still irked that after deciding not to take Latin to avoid
Miss Ruttan, I got her anyway...for English. There was no
justice back then! |
