After LHS
I received two masters degrees, then trained to be a family
systems therapist at the Menninger Foundation in Topeka and at
the Bowen Center for the Study of the Family in Washington,
D.C.
Employment
For 20 years, I taught at the Menninger Foundation. Currently
I teach at a local university and also am in private practice
as a marriage and family therapist.
Hearth & Home
Dave Howard, a business lawyer, and I have been married for 34
years. We have worked in Kansas City for almost the total
length of our marriage. We have two grown children—Jud, 25,
and Elizabeth, 22—both of whom are in their first professional
jobs. One is a neuro-surgical ICU nurse in Kansas City, and
the other is the marketing director for an accounting firm in
Cincinnati.
The Other Stuff
When not teaching or working as a therapist, I have a very
different interest: I study ant behavior in the Sonoran Desert
a few weeks each summer with a biologist named Deborah
Gordon. She and I are studying social patterns in Harvester
ants. Who could have predicted this?!
My Memories of LHS
I have so many fond memories of good friends, football games,
slumber parties, and cruising the square on Saturday night. |
