Christmas with the Einhelligs
After LHS
I majored in business and civil engineering at KU, graduating
in December 1970.
Employment
I started working in the aviation business for the Federal
Aviation Administration (FAA) in Kansas City in 1971, and have
been at the FAA's Air Route Traffic Control Center in Olathe
since 1995. I've also been licensed realtor in Kansas since
1976.
Hearth & Home
I have been married to Cindy (Bishop Miege class of '68) for
the past 25 years. We had three children. The oldest, Justin,
died of cancer at age 4 in 1987. Our other two children, Jenna
(22) and Janine (20), are in college. Jenna is a senior in
nursing at Avila University in Kansas City and should graduate
in May '07. Janine attends the University of Missouri at Rolla
and is a junior majoring in chemical engineering. Both girls
play college soccer for their schools. Cindy stayed home with
the girls until they started school. Then she taught at their
school, Holy Trinity in Lenexa, until the girls started high
school at Bishop Miege. From the time the girls entered
school, I've coached most of their teams in basketball,
softball and soccer. The three years they were in high school
at the same time, their team won the Kansas State 5A State
Championship in basketball each year. In soccer, they won one
state title and finished second another year. As a family,
we've spent most of our vacation time at Lake of the
Ozarks. That's especially true now because we built a new home
at the lake for retirement. That will keep us both working for
a few more years.
The Other Stuff
I've coached a lot of girls AAU basketball over the years,
with the last team being 17U (high school seniors) in 2004 at
AAU Nationals in Orlando and later at the Junior Olympics.
After retiring from the FAA, I would like to do something with
house construction and/or real estate...and go to more KU
basketball and football games.
My Memories of LHS
Great high school with excellent education and kids. Many good
friends. Lawrence is a fun town. |
