Services for Gordon W. Garber, 51, Lawrence, will be at 11
a.m. Saturday at the First United Methodist Church in
Lawrence. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Pleasant
Grove.
Mr. Garber died Wednesday, July 14, 1999, at the University of
Nebraska Medical Center, Omaha.
He was born Dec. 22, 1947, in Sawyer, the son of Paul and Neva
(Crist) Garber.
He moved to Lawrence in 1959 from Sawyer and graduated from
Lawrence High School in 1966. He also graduated from the
Kansas University Medical Center and did post doctoral studies
at the University of Chicago and Menninger's Clinic, Topeka.
Mr. Garber owned Criticare Home Health Services, Inc. in
Lawrence from 1983 to the present. He had been the director of
respiratory and pulmonary physiology at Lawrence Memorial
Hospital from 1972 to 1983.
He was a member and former board member of the American
Association of Respiratory Care and a member of the First
United Christian Church.
He married Lori Heasty on Nov. 25, 1995, in Lawrence. She
survives of the home. Other survivors include his parents,
Lawrence; two sons, Noah and Micah, both of Lawrence; a
daughter, Katie Boogher, of the home; two brothers, Michael L.
and Douglas P., both of Lawrence; and two sisters, Patricia
Gleue, Topeka, and Priscilla McPheeters, Lawrence.
The family suggests memorials to the Big Brothers and Big
Sisters organization. |
