Thursday at Corpus Christi
Catholic Church. Burial with
military honors will follow in
Memorial Park Cemetery,
Lawrence.
Mr. Shultz died Sunday, Jan. 10, 2010, at Stormont-Vail Regional Health Center in Topeka. He was injured in a car accident on Thursday, Dec. 31, 2009, in Jefferson County.
He was born on Nov. 30, 1948, in Lawrence, the son of James D. and Loraine Gisey Shultz. He graduated from Lawrence High School in 1966. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. In 1983 he graduated from Oklahoma State University. Following graduation he opened The Cobbler’s Bench in Lawrence, which was in business for 20 years.
Mr. Shultz was a lifetime member of the NRA and was involved in Douglas County 4-H for many years. He married Pat Hill on March 9, 1968. They later divorced. Survivors include one daughter, Kim Hill and husband Tyler, Eudora; one son, Craig Shultz and wife Mandy, Lawrence; two brothers, Jim and Jeff, both of Lawrence; and three grandchildren, Tucker Gabriel, William Shultz and Mary Katherine Shultz.
