Raymond Michael "Mike" Lee

Services for Raymond Michael “Mike” Lee, 59, Lawrence, will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 23, at Warren-McElwain Mortuary. Burial will be at Oak Hill Cemetery.

Mr. Lee died Saturday, Jan. 20, 2007, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital. He was born Jan. 10, 1948, in Lawrence, the son of Raymond Howard and Arvilla Wells Lee.

Mr. Lee was a lifelong resident of Lawrence. He graduated from Lawrence High School in 1966 and earned a bachelor’s degree from Kansas State University. He was a machine operator at Lawrence Paper Co. Mr. Lee was active in AA for 23 years and was a member of the Wednesday Night Bridge Club.

Survivors include his mother, Arvilla, Lawrence; two daughters, Jennifer Schweda, Baldwin City, and Rebecca Lee, Ozawkie; two sons, Raymond Allen Lee and daughter-in-law Erin Stanley, Eudora, and Jordan Haag and daughter-in-law Tessa Pennewell, Lawrence; a brother, Fred, and sister-in-law Pearl Teel, Lawrence; two sisters, Susan Lee, Austin, Texas, and Barbara Landa and brother-in-law Fred, Powhatan, Va.; five granddaughters, Madelyn, Hayley, Elyse, Alexia and Cailyn; and two grandsons, Tristan and Dominic.
The family will greet friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at the mortuary.

The family suggests memorials to Operation WildLife or the Lawrence Humane Society, sent in care of the mortuary. Online condolences may be sent here.
