Earned an MA from KU in history, an MBA from Southern Methodist University, and a CPA from Texas.

Employment
I now am working at Metropolitan Community College (MCC) in KCMO and I really like it. The last time I reported in I was working at the University of Houston's downtown campus as a student accounting manager. After that I moved to a similar position at the University of Houston's main campus, but only did that for one year (didn't like it!). Next, I worked two years for Systems & Computer Technology as a consultant/trainer for schools that purchased the Banner Student & Finance Systems. I traveled weekly to all sorts of big and little burgs. I really liked that, especially the little ones. It was nice to go to small town USA when you live in the 4th largest city in the country. Then I moved back to Kansas. It didn't matter where I lived; I just had to be close to an airport. That job petered out in 2000 (after schools stopped purchasing for Y2K). So I worked as a consultant for Rockhurst to help with their Go-Live on Banner, and then went to MCC for their transition to PeopleSoft (April 2000). I have been at MCC ever since, as a functional developer and support to the five MCC business offices.

Hearth & Home
Still just me. I do have two cats, Wilbur and Orville. They are litter mates, exactly two years old and very cute and people friendly. A friend of mine told me my last cat was awful because I named him Puff (when he was little, I thought he was a she). So I named these little guys "manly" names. Well, let me tell you, she was right about the name thing. These are the highest flying little guys I have ever seen. Next time I will name a cat "floor hugger" or something.

The Other Stuff
I actually bought a house (my first) two years ago. Before, I had always lived in condos or apartments. I thought I would hate yard work, but I actually love it! Unlike Ann Richards (the former Texas governor who passed away recently), I wouldn't mind at all if my epitaph read "she kept a really clean house." Maybe that's why I picked accounting...I like organization and neatness. I like history and reading, too. I travel occasionally, but mostly to visit friends or family. My father is the one who could travel forever. I think because I grew up doing that, it just isn't that novel to me. But when forced to go on family vacations to Hawaii, Bermuda and Europe, I have really enjoyed them. I just have to be made to do it (and it's always nice to get someone else to pay for it, too...not that that happens, but hey, why not ask?). Probably my biggest milestone would be getting back to my old "fat weight" of 125 lbs!  I'm not there yet, and won't be for the reunion. So just expect a size 12 for now. My goal is to just keep enjoying myself.

My Memories of LHS
I remember LHS for its being a "new" school when we were there; now it's kind of run down. I enjoyed the football and basketball (I don't like sports now, but I did then). I loved A Cappella and some of my classes. I had lots of fun with a lot of really nice, funny, smart kids. It has always been nice to see them again when they pop up at the reunion (I've been to the 20th & 25th). I was never any good at gym-type things. I wish I had been more coordinated, but I was your typical "wimpy girl."
