After LHS
Received both a BA and MS in Psychology from KU while working
at The Menninger Foundation. Then I did PhD work at the
University of Texas in Austin. Over the years I've gathered up
lots of other credentials, including real estate, insurance
and mortgage licenses, and have attended many seminars on
counseling and building as well as on real estate sales,
management and development. Accolades I've received include
Small Business Exporter of the Year and Salesman of the Year.
Employment
I have been involved in so many different jobs and careers
that I have lost track! Most interesting was as VP, Sales and
Marketing, for
Reynolds Polymer Technology/ICM. We completed themed
entertainment, aquarium, architectural and nuclear physics
work for major projects in 40 countries. You have seen our
work if you have been to any major aquarium in the U.S. (or 40
or so other countries) or have been to Las Vegas. Currently I
am president of The Kesler Group, a real estate investment and
development company, and I own property in Florida, Texas and
Colorado. In addition, I am president-elect of the Western
Colorado Home Building Association.
Hearth & Home
I still consider my first wife, Virginia Wulfkuhle, to be
family. Mom is alive and well in Lawrence, and I live on the
golf course in a beautiful place in far western Colorado. I
have two terrific 100-pound "puppies" that know 15 tricks and
are great companions. I never had any of my own children, but
I am a god parent to several children who are now grown.
The Other Stuff
My volunteer activities include being finance vice president,
the James E. West Fellow, and a commissioner for Western
Colorado Council of the Boy Scouts of America; Paul Harris
Fellow and member of the board of directors for Rotary; and a
member of the board of directors for Grand Valley Affordable
Housing as well as the American Foundation for Suicide
Prevention. For fun, I build grandfather clocks; collect
books; built, own and race a Lotus Seven replica and a
six-speed shifter kart; mountain climb; golf; snow and water
ski; and bicycle. I have traveled to more than 50 countries,
and been "around the world" many times. In fact, I love life
so much that I feel like I'm having a love affair with God. I
have made some terrible mistakes in the past, but feel more
blessed and lucky than I can describe. I am doing exactly what
I want to do.
My Memories of LHS
I fondly remember my friends first, then activities and
traditions. I liked our lives then and who we were. I was
fortunate to have grown up in Lawrence and to graduate from
LHS. |
