After LHS
I attended Pittsburg State and KU when I thought I wanted to
be a teacher. Then I had my own child and changed my focus to
business. I finally earned a BS in Business Administration at
Minnesota State University, Moorhead.
Employment
I have worked as a human resource director for 18 years,
currently working for the city of Fargo, North Dakota. Yah,
sure, you betcha. The movie "Fargo" was not a documentary and
it was not even filmed in Fargo, but I do know people who talk
just like Marge.
Hearth & Home
In 1968 I married Bob Buchholz. For the next 17 years, we made
our life in Minnesota and had three terrific sons, David, Josh
and Dan. In 1985, Bob died from cancer and the boys and I
were faced with life without our compass. We had our struggles,
but we continued to love and support each other. Now my sons
have grown into wonderful men and resemble their father in
many ways that make me very proud. About 17 years after Bob
died, I was
thinking that life was pretty darn good with my sons out of
college, a great job and an interesting life filled with
weekends at the lake and lots of travel. Then along came Bruce
Busch. The woman who cut our hair decided we should meet since
we had so much in common. We will always be grateful to Cindy
for her matchmaking. Bruce and I married in September 2000 and
spent our honeymoon in Italy. Now we are the proud parents of
seven children (six boys and one girl), along with spouses,
significant others and the BIG bonus of five grandchildren.
Family gatherings are very large. Life is full of surprises
and twists and turns...and, oh, what a great ride it is!
The Other Stuff
We love to travel and have many places yet to visit. Alaska is
a favorite, but I also loved St. Lucia. Next up may be Ireland
and Germany. I have discovered that I actually like to fish,
even ice fishing, and living on a lake makes it very easy. But
I really liked fishing for king salmon in Alaska the best of
all. I also have been seen hitting a little white ball around
a field, but I don't know if I would actually call it golfing.
So with travel, travel and more travel— and playing with the
grandchildren—I'm living a great life and loving it.
My Memories of LHS
I remember fondly my friends, those red pep club jackets, sand
bar parties and graduating. And I will always remember that
Debbie Elliott really did look like Ringo Starr when
they did the Beatles impersonation at a pep rally. If I had
any bad memories, I must have forgotten them. |
